Every approved estates should have a layout plan stamped and signed by the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning.

3. Visit Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority
You can verify the layout status by checking with Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority. They have an up-to-date database of all approved estate layouts across Lagos.

4. Check the Survey Plan
A registered survey plan should contain the Town Planning Design number, Layout name, and The stamp and signature of the Surveyor General.
All these confirm the layout’s approval status or take the land’s coordinates to the Surveyor General’s office in Alausa. They will help you determine if the land is part of a recognized and excised layout.

5. Ask for the Layout Approval Number
An Approved layout has a unique approval reference number. Asking for the layout reference number from the seller and verify it from the authorities can save you from lot of stress.
